flat ground, flat feet, and a flat out bummer

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 by MikeO

So i started having foot pain after an especially heavy skate session in May and decided to see my foot doctor about it.  I have some super flat feet and I’ve been working to keep ‘em in good shape for a while but the day of my first visit, doc told me that i would have to go in for an MRI and might possibly need surgery…yikes.  Today i had my follow-up for this MRI and according to it, i have some sort of chronic damage to the tendon under my foot from skating, and bone structure that could lead to some harsh arthritis when I’m older.  This is all a pretty big bummer, but the doc says that i can keep on skating and talk about a possible surgery in 5 or 6 months.  The pain isn’t very bad at the moment but an unrelated injury has me of the board.  happy skating :D

Skate Bite!!!

Friday, May 30th, 2008 by jeremy

The Horror! Our man Brian was bitten by the dreaded venomous Freestylus Skaterboardis. Fortunately he survived and is expected to make a full recovery with intensive therapy, worry beads, incense, and a Shaman…

Blah

So after snapping my trucks a few days ago, then getting some second hand ones from a friend, then taking them to a garage and getting the worn out axels re-threaded, I went out skating again today.

Long story short, I fell on my face and had to leave due to dizziness.

P.s. Busted lip and bruised my eyebrow.

Not so good

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 by Ryan

So today, instead of going to “The House” skatepark in Sheffield, I ended up crashing my car up and over a bollard on the moterway. Its pretty much a write off so now I have no car, and because of that, no job. I also put £40 petrol in the tank this morning, which was definatly a good idea.

You can’t see the bollard because the car crushed it (its manly you see), but its there, and ripped the bottom of my car in two. All in all, a pretty good (shit) result of a day I’d say.

ramblings…philosophical?

Thursday, November 15th, 2007 by Bob

When I go skate with a bunch of really good skaters, I always come away energized to skate more, and often have the desire to “skate like such-n-such did”. I think about how that other guy’s setup was, what kind of tricks he  did, etc. Sometimes I dwell on it. Then when I go out and skate, even if I learn something new, or change my setup, I always still “skate like me”.

I guess I’ll just have to get used to that. Maybe I can learn to “skate like me” a little better.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder…

Apparently this is merely an alergic reaction. Well feels a hell of alot like when I tore my cornea…Totally blind for about 10 hours (because your other eye closes in a defensive measure). Missed two days of work so far and supposed to meet Lord Bob this weekend in Wake Forest for a skatextravaganza. Gonna do that regardless. Right now it is just drops, lube (in my eye), compresses, and Tylenol.
